O agronegócio em Goiás: uma reflexão sobre a relação entre o valor adicionado bruto e o índice de desempenho dos municípios. Goiânia (GO), 2024. 87 f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Desenvolvimento Regional) - Centro Universitário Alves Farias, 2024.https://repositorio.unialfa.com.br/handle/123456789/446The state of Goiás has stood out for many years for its strong agricultural aptitude, with large-scale meat and grain production on the national scene. Some of its regions, with a strong presence of large-scale agribusiness, have a dynamic economy, as opposed to others with relative economic stagnation. In the last decade, the Mauro Borges Institute (IMB) created the Goiás Municipalities Performance Index, which makes it possible to assess the development of Goiás municipalities in certain strategic areas. Given this context, this research analyzed the possible relationship between the influence of agribusiness and the development of Goiás municipalities, by identifying the Gross Value Added (GVA) in Agriculture and Livestock and the Municipal Performance Index (IDM), analyzing the correlation between these indices and analyzing the regional characteristics of these municipalities in terms of the indices mentioned. For this task, Pearson's correlation was used between Agricultural GVA and the MDI for the six dimensions that make up the latter variable: Education, Labor, Economy, Health, Security and Infrastructure. The correlation index generated, which can vary from -1 to 1, was classified into three categories of interpretation, with positive or negative values: weak correlation (0.00 to 0.39); moderate correlation (0.40 to 0.69) and strong correlation (0.70 to 1.00). In order to improve the reliability of the data generated, only indices with a significance level equal to or less than 0.01 were considered, with the others being discarded from the analysis. Based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data, tables and maps were produced to represent the relationship between the indices surveyed and their regional distribution. Considering the sample of 246 municipalities, the correlation between the 2019 Agricultural GVA and the General MDI, Infrastructure MDI and Security MDI showed a weak positive correlation, but a moderate correlation with the Economy MDI. In the reduced sample, with a selection of the 50 municipalities with the highest Agricultural GVA, there was no statistical significance in the correlations, except with the IDM Economy, which showed a strong correlation. The correlation between the 50 municipalities with the lowest agricultural GVA was not statistically significant with any of the MDI dimensions. The spatial distribution of the 50 largest agricultural GVA showed a greater concentration in the southwest, south and southeast regions of the state. The map of the 50 largest IDM, in turn, showed a less concentrated distribution, also affecting the central and northern regions, in addition to the regions already highlighted. A third map was also drawn up, highlighting the municipalities whose presence coincided with the other two maps of the 50 largest IDM and 50 largest agricultural GVA, which showed their concentration in the regions of the southern half of the state, with the exception of the municipality of Uruaçu in the north. It was therefore found that agricultural production had a low correlation with the best supply of public services, but the strong correlation with the Economy MDI demonstrates the ability of agribusiness to boost the economy of these municipalities, boosting the areas of services and industry.
