Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Administração) - Centro Universitário Alves Faria, 2026.https://repositorio.unialfa.com.br/handle/123456789/772The implementation of Judicial Processing Units (UPJs) within the Court of Justice of the State of Goiás (TJGO), based on a strategic analysis of procedural management and the growing volume of legal demands, is the central theme of this master’s dissertation. The research question guiding thisstudy is: How hasthe implementation of UPJs impacted procedural speed, considering the number of judgments rendered, cases closed, and new cases filed? Judicial delay is a critical issue that affects access to justice and undermines public trust in the legal system. In response, the Court of Justice has introduced a new paradigm through the creation of UPJs, aiming to modernize procedural management and address the increasing caseload more efficiently. Investigating the impact of these units is essential not only to assess their effectiveness but also to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the continuous enhancement of judicial performance. This study aligns with national and international goals for judicial modernization, particularly those connected to the country’s commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with emphasis on promoting more efficient, transparent, and accessible institutions. The general objective is to examine the effects of UPJ implementation at TJGO, focusing on changes in procedural management and staffing structures. The analysis will be data-driven, highlighting impacts on procedural speed, staff productivity, case volume, and congestion rates. The implementation of the Judicial Processing Units (UPJ) was associated with reduced case backlog, greater balance in procedural workflow, and a significant decrease in case processing time. The indicators demonstrate structural gains in efficiency, despite variations across units. The results suggest consistent institutional improvement following administrative reorganization. The methodological approach will be exploratory and qualitative, combining a literature review with document analysis of regulations and institutional data, as well as empirical research on the development of UPJs. This methodology will support the construction of a robust diagnostic of the practical outcomes of UPJ implementation, with a focus on identifying improvements and proposing actionable recommendations.ptCeleridade processualGestão judiciáriaTribunal de Justiça de Goiás (TJGO)Unidades de Processamento Judicial (UPJs)A gestão processual no TJGO: uma análise da produtividade após a criação das UPJ's criminais na comarca de Goiânia
