The specific purposes outlined were: a) contributing to discussion/formation of systematic, formative and fundamental institutional diagnosis to the institutional opportunities; b) identifying, gathering and ordering data produced in UEG since 2012, referring to admission, permanency period, offer, demand, teaching, research, extension course, management and infrastructure, no excluding relevant issues to necessary investigation about institutional redesign; c) creating indicators used to analyze of data, in definition of evaluation criteria and in production of relevant information to installation of the change management; d) identifying the mean variables and aspects responsible to influence the change management. The methodological approach in this paper is quali-quanti, and as research method, it is used the case study and action-research, in which the researcher is member/participator of evaluation committee. The results generated show the comprehension of importance of installation of change management from strategic redesign inside of UEG. In this respect, it is possible to think that regionalization of offer of courses by fields of knowledge optimize the teacher, infrastructure, administrative, logistics, research and extension course assets, benefiting the construction of Reference Centres and/or Excelence Centres in order to help the development of UEG and Goiás State. The dual of courses offered and the presence of campus very near in several regions of Goiás State create a movement called as ‘institutional shading’, many times intensified with the presence of all offered modalities by Higher Education Institutions and conversely the lack of some fields of knowledge don’t inserted, yet.ptGestão de mudançasRedesenho institucionalMudança organizacional
