Goiânia (GO): Faculdades Alves Faria, 2017.https://repositorio.unialfa.com.br/handle/123456789/236Research on organizational culture has been the object of study by several researchers because it provides an understanding of the relationship existing in the social manifestations that involve people and the organization. This dynamic of organizational functioning, which encompasses social values adjusted to the work environment, can be responsible for the organization's life cycle. Another aspect that contributes to the growing study of organizational culture is the fact that any type of organization generates culture and can produce several cultures at the same time. However, studies show the lack of scientific production on organizational culture in public organizations in Brazil. For this reason, the present study was conducted in a public organization and aims to raise the cultural profile of the Rectory of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás (IFG), from the point of view of its leadership and from the perspective of the styles model of organizational functioning, created by Gabriel, Paz and Mendes (2001). These styles can be classified as individualistic, bureaucratic, affiliative and entrepreneurial. To achieve the expected objectives, a quantitative case study was carried out with the sixty leaders of the Rectory of the IFG, through a type II replication of the questionnaire prepared by Paz and Mendes (2008), to evaluate and measure the mentioned styles from a cultural perspective. This study resulted in descriptive statistical analyzes with the presentation of tables and graphs obtained with the Microsoft Excel program and the SPSS program. Because the analyzed institution is a public organization, some bureaucratic obstacles were presented, which did not prevent the conclusion of the research. The results indicated that the Rectory of the IFG does not have a unique operating style, however, it is possible to verify how predominant the entrepreneurial style is. Furthermore, it is expected that these results will collaborate with the managers of the Rectory of the IFG, providing a better understanding of the culture existing in this institution. It is also hoped that this study will contribute to future research in other organizations, both public and private, or even be extended to all IFG Rector's servers or applied to the other IFG campuses.ptCultura organizacionalEstilos de funcionamentoReitoria do IFGCultura e estilos de funcionamento organizacional: um estudo de caso com liderança de reitoria do IFG
