The literature review addresses Entrepreneurship in Brazil, the Public Policies of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as the characterization of the Individual Microentrepreneur and its advantages and obligations. The methodological procedure took place initially through a bibliographic and then descriptive study, with the population chosen as the entrepreneurs who operate in the Free Fairs of the city of Rio Verde - GO, because they generally have the necessary characteristics to formalize in the MEI system. The studies were taken to the field with the surveys made through the application of questionnaires, with a sample of one hundred marketers. The research was qualitative and quantitative. It was found that 9% of the entrepreneurs were unaware of the MEI program. It was also possible to verify that 45% of the interviewees, despite knowing the program, did not adhere to the MEI and that 46% of the interviewees are registered as MEI. Several variables were pointed out to justify the non-adherence, among them stand out: not having more information about the program, lack of knowledge, having another job and not wanting to lose unemployment insurance and also difficulties in complying with legal requirements. In relation to the variables pointed out for adhesion, the main indicator was about the social security benefits, followed by the possibility of obtaining loans and others with less relevance. Thus, this research finds that this public policy program, the MEI has not yet been explored by government agencies to influence in different ways the various activities still carried out informally in the Brazilian economy.ptEmpreendedorismoEmpreendedorMicroempreendedorAnálise da adesão dos feirantes de Rio Verde ao programa microempreendedor individual
