Thus, the question was: “How has the supervision carried out by the General Inspectorate of Justice (CGJ) enabled the control of notarial and registration activities in the State of Goiás?” The research has the general objective of evaluating the supervision carried out by the CGJ and its viability in controlling notarial and registration activities in the State of Goiás. The study was based on the descriptive research method of a qualitative nature, with the application of a structured interview script taking into account to the ethical aspects of research with human beings. The qualitative data were analyzed according to Bardin, with pre-defined categories, which are: (i) problems occurring in the inspection of FUNDESP-PJ collection; (ii) oversight of the activities of extrajudicial notary offices through Federal Law no. 8,935/1994; and (iii) inspection carried out by the CGJ and control of notary and registration activities in the State of Goiás. It was evident in the interviewees' statements that the problem is related to the lack of human resources, and when carrying out inspection, the problems are several, including: undue charging of fees, lack of qualified personnel for the role and lack of transparency in information. And they made positive observations about the TJGO's computerized system, but they still made some suggestions, including: increasing the number of civil servants working in the extrajudicial universe; Institution of electronic record books; mine the data obtained from the latest inspection reports in order to select the main accounting and bookkeeping occurrences verified during the inspection.
