To this end, qualitative research was carried out, with data collection through documents from the Goiás State Health Department and 21 structured interviews with employees who were active and responsible for the projects. The analyzes first highlight the adjustments made to the specific tools suggested by experts based on the PMBOK, and then describe the difficulties and challenges, the successes and possibilities, considered phase by phase of the project, based on categories of analysis consolidated from the areas of knowledge and the elements that make up the quality of a project. The results contribute to the public management, especially in the health area, so it can be benefited from the Project Management methodology in the execution of its core activity, which is the provision of efficient and quality public service to the population.ptGerenciamento de projetosServiço publico de saúdeRegionalização da saúde
