The research methodology of sustainability indicators, with data collection through bibliographic review of research method and use of a compost matrix by 42 indicators organized in dimensions. It was found that in Água Boa - MT the Economic/Financial Dimension is the one that most distances itself from the ideal of sustainability, followed by the Dimension of Social Inclusion, Knowledge and Policy. The best performances in the sustainability matrix were obtained in the Technological and Environmental/Ecological Dimensions, respectively. From the results obtained by dimension, the level of sustainability obtained, whose result was 6.2, medium sustainability. To improve the urban solid waste management is suggested that there be allocation of financial resources for the management of urban solid waste; implementation of actions that encourage broad popular participation; implementation of composting of organic waste; public partnerships and information campaigns on solid waste reverse logistics; continuous training for material collectors and other waste management agents. Completing an employed sustainability matrix showed the important tool for analysis, evaluation, comparison and comparison of the integrated management of indicators, allowing the municipality to identify its strengths and the critics that need more attention.ptIndicadores de sustentabilidadePolítica Nacional de Resíduos SólidosGestão urbana
