In the public sector the entrepreneur innovates internal processes in existing public companies, through intrapreneurship. An entrepreneur has one or more of the five entrepreneurial characteristics: need for achievement, need for autonomy, impulse and determination, risk propensity and creative tendency, which serve to characterize entrepreneurial traits present in these individuals, studies have shown that this entrepreneurial characteristic of a server entrepreneurial public assists in decisions regarding their mode and place of work. In this sense, the purpose of the present study was to analyze the general entrepreneurial characteristics of federal public servants (administrative and teaching staff) of a federal education institution. Data were collected through two instruments: 1 - General sociodemographic questionnaire; and 2 - General Entrepreneurial Trend Test (TEG). The research was carried out in November and December 2018, constituting the application of the questionnaires to 70 servers of the IF Goiano - Campus Urutaí. The frequency data were arranged in double entry contingency tables, analyzing the association between the entrepreneurial characteristics and five other variables, being billing, educational level, number of sectors where they already worked, commission and functional category, applying the chi square test for independence at 5% significance, for each entrepreneurial characteristic. With the average expected and achieved score of the TEG test, it is highlighted that the only characteristic identified for the sample was Impulse and Determination, with a mean reached of 9.19. It was concluded that, compared to other studies, even in different contexts, it shows similarities of results regarding the amount of entrepreneurial characteristic of the participants, only one being verified. It is suggested that other studies be carried out to verify if it is a characteristic of federal public servants or only of the analyzed sample.ptEmpreendedorismoServidores públicos
