Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Desenvolvimento Regional) - Centro Universitário Alves Faria, 2023.https://repositorio.unialfa.com.br/handle/123456789/137This dissertation is an integral part of the research line of Public Policies, Productive Arrangements of the Professional Master's Program in Regional Development at Centro Universitário Alves Faria (UNIALFA). Its object of study is to collect information on baru extractivism, as an element of regional development in teresinhese society, with a perspective on the economy, education and the environment. Find in the multiple facets of scientific study the place of barueiro extractivism with observation of this activity as a guiding tool for regional development. This scientific study will be carried out in three (03) stages: The first part is a bibliometric literary research, the second a scientometric research (already published), and the third is a Case Study of APRUCE (Association of Small Producers of Cedrolina), with reports on the collection of baru. The cerrado covers about 23% of the Brazilian territory, a biome with more than 7 thousand species, of which 4.4 are endemic, one of the richest hotspots in the world. The teresinhese cerrado is rich in fruitful specimens, including the baru that has been used as a business strategy, as a complement to the income of needy families in the municipality of Santa Terezinha de Goiás. The collector extractivism and the barueira activity will be the object of study of this research, with the intention of understanding what is its driving force in the process of socioeconomic development in the region, and if the barueira activity is an element capable of improving the quality of life of the local community. As it is a community with a seasonal agroecological vocation, with a short collection period (approximately three months), in the off-season of traditional crops, the real economic capacity of the baru for Teresinhese society will be observed, since many workers are unemployed during this period in the crops. To analyze the economic potential of the by products in the baru production chain, and the ability of this to take it out of anonymity and empiricism, to offer baru extractivism a different model of productive arrangement, with the use of baru by-products and to optimize the entire production chain, to understand the role of barueiro extractivism in socioeconomic restructuring and as an element for regional development in Santa Terezinha de Goiás.ptDesenvolvimento sustentávelExtrativismo coletorRelevância econômicaBaru, ouro pardo do cerrado como elemento no processo do desenvolvimento regional de Santa Terezinha de Goiás
