Faced with this ecological reality and with companies becoming more competitive, a great differential begins to be remarkable: the socio-environmental responsibility. The implementation of such programs within companies depends on other factors for success, such as adequate, contextualized and well-established programs; measurement of results; involvement of employees, among others. In this search for a better perspective for the future, there is interest in the study of the behavior and perception presented by employees of different banking institutions in relation to sustainable development, in view of the policies already instituted in companies. This process was carried out by means of an exploratory study, which had as instrument the application of questionnaires, for later use of the data in the accomplishment of a comparative between Public and private Financial Institutions. The results point to a better perception on the part of the employees of private institutions, with a greater predisposition to ecologically correct behavior in the institutional environment, and behaviors closer to the goal of the implemented policies.ptMeio ambienteResponsabilidade socioambientalDesenvolvimento sustentável
