Healthcare institutions are under increasing pressure from large brands that are advancing in the market. Patients are more active and the need for sustainability standards is mandatory. It is important to seek the maximum expression of added value, with a focus on excellence in management, in other words: care, process and experience. Historically, accreditation processes around the world have aimed to promote, through validated criteria, the perception of quality and safety of care in health institutions. It is a voluntary, educational and change-promoting movement. It has an interactive, participatory and integrated nature through the involvement of all those interested in the business, from assessors, assessors, institutions and patients. An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out in a 71-bed, 360-employee, low and medium complexity family health institution in Goiás, with a general epidemiological profile and a greater focus on obstetrics. An institutional management maturity analysis tool was used. This tool is based on the hospital assessment requirements of the National Accreditation Organization (ONA). The study period was from April 2020 to April 2023. The result of applying the tool shows management maturity through the percentage of compliance obtained through evidence of compliance with the requirements applied in each sector of the institution. It can be seen that in April 2020, there was 30% compliance, in 2022 progressing to 44% and in 2023 to 60%. The analysis obtained guided the restructuring movement and was the basis for all institutional change planning. The hospital accreditation process is an excellent guiding standard to support hospital restructuring. Planning to comply with the requirements of the certification manual requires the institution to make changes to its organizational pillars. The impact on management maturity is significant. It can be inferred that institutions that enter the hospital certification process respond more quickly and agilely to the dynamism of the market scenario, achieving sustainability and becoming more competitive.ptGestão da qualidadeTransformação organizacionalSustentabilidadeGoiâniaA gestão da qualidade como modelo de transformação organizacional em um hospital geral de Goiânia
