The object of study is the Federal Institute of Goiás - Campus Goiânia Oeste and the characteristics of Professional Education and its relationship with regional development in the city of Goiânia. The research proposal is intended to analyze the policies of professional and Technological Education and the operationalization of these policies, from the Federal Institute of Goiás Campus Goiânia Oeste and its relation with the regional development, through a research and documental critical analysis of the Pedagogical Projects of the technical courses in nursing in the form of Young and Adult Education available on campus. And more specifically, this study seeks to: contextualize professional and technological education in Brazil and Goiás; investigate the links between professional and Technological Education offered by the Federal Institutes of Education with regional development and to analyze the Pedagogical Project of the course in nursing in the Young and Adult Education modality available at the Federal Institute of Goiás Campus Goiânia Oeste. The theoretical assumptions aim to analyze the data in a critical and emancipatory perspective. The research is a case study and the methodology is a critical documentary analysis of a qualitative nature and a bibliographical review on the object of study. This work is justified by the need to promote a reflection on the contributions of Professional Education within the scope of the work developed by the Federal Institute of Goiás, Campus Goiânia Oeste for regional development in Goiás. The research under study seeks to answer the guiding question: What relationships are possible to establish between professional education and regional development at the IFG Campus Goiânia Oeste? The relationship between the PPC (2017), the Professional Education practices within the course curriculum and its articulation with regional development were discussed, which takes place through pedagogical work with the axes of general, professional and integrated education, in which students from the EJA, can obtain theoretical and practical knowledge to train themselves as technical professionals in the field of Health and also as critical citizens aware of their role as social actors in regional development.ptEducação profissionalInstituto Federal de GoiásGoiânia
