Recognizing that early childhood is a critical period for comprehensive human development and that play is essential for effective learning and socio-emotional development, this study identifies the main challenges and opportunities within the Itapuranga context. The municipality has shown positive initiatives in integrating play into its educational approach, enhancing the quality of early childhood education and positively influencing regional development. However, the research also highlights ongoing challenges such as financial resource constraints and the need for continuous training for educators. The primary objective of this study is to analyze the impact of these policies on regional development. Specific objectives include examining the implemented public policies, their contribution to regional development, and identifying challenges and opportunities in using play as a pedagogical resource. A systematic literature review methodology was employed, encompassing academic sources and governmental documents. The study concludes that, despite challenges, Itapuranga's case serves as a positive and instructive example that could inspire other municipalities in Goiás and Brazil. It emphasizes the need for well-integrated educational policies and continuous investments to overcome existing barriers and maximize the potential of play as an effective pedagogical resource. This dissertation contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate interaction between early childhood education, public policies, and regional development, offering recommendations for future research and implementations.
