How has the tourism course contributed to tourism in the municipality and region? As the objective of the study is to analyze how the Bachelor of Tourism and Heritage course at UEG contributes to the regional development of the City of Goiás. Specific objectives include the analysis of public education, culture and tourism policies in the region and their impact on regional development, the investigation of the UEG Tourism and Heritage course and its influences on the calendar of events and its contribution to local development, and the verification of the intersections of public policies with the local economy in promoting local development. The research seeks to understand the relevance of the Bachelor of Tourism and Heritage course as a driving agent of regional development, as well as to identify opportunities to strengthen public policies and initiatives related to tourism in the region of Goiás. To give theoretical support to the development of the present work, the teachings of, among others, Candiotto (2015), Censon, (2022), Fernandes (2012), Sousa ande Freiesleben (2018), Fusco and Ojima (2017), Griebeler (2021), Kamimura and Simonetti (2017), Manfré and Nardez (2019), Silva e Mantovaneli Júnior (2015), Pacheco (2011), Rolim and Serra (2009), Schindler (2014), Silveira (2002), Souza and Theis (2009) and Tomazzoni (2009), were used. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach, with an exploratory and descriptive objective, and the procedures used were bibliographic and documentary research, with the application of questionnaires and interviews. It was concluded that the bachelor's degree in tourism and heritage at the State University of Goiás (UEG), Cora Coralina campus, located in the city of Goiás (GO) performs a good articulation between public policies of education, culture, tourism and economics, but there is a need to improve the process of access and permanence of students in the course, guaranteeing a qualified training to develop the city and the region with great tourist potential.ptUniversidade Estadual de GoiásPolíticas públicasCidade de Goiás
