At first, there was a need for social distancing as a way to control the spread of the virus. The pandemic scenario led to the closing of schools, a situation that prevented classes from taking place. As a result, students were affected and had to continue their studies at home. In this context, remote teaching has been inserted in the Brazilian educational system, in order to contemplate non-face-to-face educational activities. In view of this, this study aims to address, in the educational context, the possible contributions of remote teaching and digital information and communication technologies to educational development and their possible impacts on regional development. To carry out this study, the methodology adopted was bibliographic research of a qualitative nature. Therefore, it is based on theoreticians who approach the ideas of education, remote teaching, digital technologies, and social, economic, and regional development. In Goiás, the lack of virtual accessibility for students can compromise access to pedagogical content, creating gaps in learning. Ensuring equity of access is fundamental to allow the continuity of the teaching-learning process in this hybridization process (face-to-face teaching and remote teaching), which leads to the need for the adoption of measures by government bodies aimed at guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents to education. It is understood that the State's action must be efficient, by means of public policies that value education and see it as a means of social and economic progress. In addition, the use of technologies, especially digital information and communication technologies, can contribute significantly to the development of people; consequently to the social and economic development of a given region, through the creation of jobs that require qualified personnel.ptEnsino remotoPandemia
