The International debate points the complexity to measure the innovation , especially innovative effort and their effects on business performance . So, the ALI Program SEBRAE in partnership with the CNPq represent an effort in the feeling to understand how the innovation process contributes to increasing the competitiveness of enterprises . For this purpose, was selected a sample of 50 micro and small enterprises in the food sector of the western region of the State of Goias. The methodology to reach the proposed goal was quasi experimental research using qualitative and quantitative studies. This is a longitudinal study, where companies were analyzed in three different moments August/2011, August/2012 and August /2013. Was performed the degree of innovation by size, the degree of global innovation and finally a statistical analysis of the data. The results show an evolution over two years of follow up and through the statistical analysis it was found that virtually all dimensions were significant in the evolution of the degree of innovation, which demonstrates the effectiveness of actions ALI program, it stimulates culture of innovation and fosters competitiveness, diversification and growth of businesses.ptInovaçãoMicro e Pequenas EmpresasGrau de inovação
