The work was carried out through bibliographic research on concepts related to water supply systems, documentary research in public institutions, mainly in the CAESB, in charge of the Water Supply System in the Federal District and field research in this institution with key people. The most relevant result regarding the objectives is that the lack of rain due to climate change in the Central-West region was effectively the determining factor of rationing in the water supply, but other factors also contribute to the DF water crisis , such as increased consumption by accelerated urban growth, water losses in the distribution network, misuse and waste of water due to lack of population awareness, irregular occupations in areas of environmental preservation and also water abstractions clandestine.ptAbastecimento de águaCrise hídricaPolíticas públicas
