Considering the relevance of the topic in the public sector and the organizational changes in Public Administration over recent decades, we examined publications regarding Competence Management within the Brazilian public sector. As a result, it was possible to identify the main challenges faced in its implementation, including organizational culture and behavior, structural issues within institutions, technical aspects, and limited awareness on the importance of the topic. Furthermore, based on the analysis of legislation, regulations and official documents from TJGO, we highlighted the main actions undertaken by the institution to implement the Competence Management. The most significant initiatives included the publication of decrees with the necessary guidelines for Competence Management implementation, Strategic Plans (2015/2020 and 2021/2025), the Quality Management Manual, and the Standard Operating Procedure for Competence Mapping.ptAdministração Pública.Gestão de qualidade.TJGO.Gestão por competências
