In small and medium-sized municipalities, such as Bela Vista de Goiás, this discussion acquires particular relevance due to the predominance of family farming and the expansion of industrial activities, especially those related to the dairy sector. In this context, it is essential to understand how environmental education can contribute to building alternatives that reconcile economic growth, social justice, and environmental preservation. This study aims to analyze the role of environmental education in sustainable regional development in Bela Vista de Goiás, investigating educational practices, public policies, and community initiatives. The research is based on the hypothesis that environmental education, when critical and contextualized, can promote cultural and structural changes, strengthening the protagonism of local actors. The methodology adopted is qualitative, grounded in bibliographic and documentary. The chapters address, respectively, the role of environmental education, local sustainable practices, the articulation with regional public policies, and a critical analysis of advances and challenges. The results show that the effectiveness of actions depends on the integration of sectoral policies, the valorization of local knowledge, and active community participation. It is concluded that environmental education constitutes a strategic vector for promoting regional sustainability by fostering critical awareness, socio-environmental co-responsibility, and innovation in productive and social practices.ptPráticas sustentáveisMarketing verdeEducação ambientalDesenvolvimento sustentável
