The paper discusses the classification and characteristics of solid waste, the implications of the National Solid Waste Policy implemented in 2010 and behaviors of people before the 5 R's of sustainability. The question of selective collection and recycling is emphasized as a necessity and way for reverse logistics happen with the necessary efficiency in order to turn a waste product into raw material for a new production cycle. The types of waste generated from the company's study contracts in which case is explicit generation of solid waste are identified. Then the waste is classified and qualified as existing national standards and laws. Finally, we treat the suggestion of a waste management plan as a strategy not only to minimize impacts to the environment, but also as an alternative transformation of what is discarded into a source of income and revenue paras companies. In this study it was observed as a result that the largest volume of waste generated by the public company is not hazardous waste, mainly from civil construction. A small volume of hazardous waste were found and these were also included in the waste management proposal covering all categories found in the bank.ptResíduos sólidosGerenciamentosustentabilidade
