The high incidence of work accidents in the sugar and alcohol industry is still a serious public health problem in Brazil and requires interventions to minimize it. The general objective of this dissertation is to evaluate and critically discuss the occurrence of work accidents in the sugar and alcohol sector of the State of Goiás between the years of 2012 to 2017. A bibliographical and documentary research was carried out and field research will be carried out. Based on the data presented so far, it was verified that in the period of 2012-2017 there was a high number of accidents at work, with typical accidents being greater than accidents of commuting and of commuting more than occupational diseases.
