The research seeks to answer the following question: What results has the UEG administration achieved in preventing and controlling dropouts in its undergraduate programs? The study focuses on evaluating the outcomes of the administration's efforts to prevent and control student attrition. The proposed methodology employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a student questionnaire to critically evaluate the measures taken to address dropouts while considering the students' propensity to leave. The results reveal that, although most students view aspects of the courses, facilities, and academic environment positively, the vast majority of students at the Cora Coralina Campus have considered dropping out or changing majors. The "working student" profile presents a challenge to institutional retention, as these students must balance work, studies, and family obligations. Despite investments in undergraduate scholarships and psychosocial support services, these measures prove insufficient, as they are primarily reactive and fail to mitigate regional socioeconomic barriers.
