The research analyzes how the peculiarities of this economic model affect consumers, suppliers, and intermediaries, exploring regulatory gaps, information asymmetries, and conflicts arising from breaches of trust, as well as their impacts on the market and economic dynamics. The study is structured into three chapters. The first addresses the theoretical and historical foundations of the sharing economy, highlighting its evolution and impact on social and consumer relations. The second chapter discusses the normative and practical challenges associated with digital platforms, focusing on their responsibilities as intermediaries and the consumer's vulnerability. The third chapter analyzes civil liability in consumer relations within the sharing economy, emphasizing the effects of breaches of trust and the validity of no-indemnity clauses under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
