Education plays a fundamental role in fostering a more inclusive society. In the case of people with disabilities, it is even more essential as it enhances human capital and catalyses a fairer and more equitable society. Equal access to professional training is crucial for equipping people with disabilities with the necessary skills for the labour market, thereby fostering the development of autonomous and productive citizens. Against this backdrop, the primary objective of this study is to examine the role of inclusive education in enhancing the employability of individuals with disabilities by analysing training programmes and opportunities for their integration into the workforce. Through training and employing institutions — namely UNIALFA, SEDUC, ADVEG, ADFEGO and PESTALOZZI — the study aims to identify the types of disabilities represented, the courses offered and the available employment opportunities. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies alongside detailed data analysis. The research draws on the work of key authors such as Freire (2003), Figueira (2021), Libâneo (1989) and Saviani (2013). The findings reveal that professional training for people with disabilities predominantly focuses on areas such as administrative services, basic computing, production assistance, customer service and education. The study demonstratesthat coordination between appropriate training, effective public policies and a commitment to inclusion by training institutions has a significant positive impact on the employability and autonomy of people with disabilities. This, in turn, contributes to the regional development of Goiânia and supports equitable and inclusive economic growth.ptEmpregabilidadeEducação inclusivaEquidadeA formação profissional e a empregabilidade das pessoas com deficiência para um desenvolvimento regional e igualitário em Goiânia-Go.
