This study investigates the impact of EJA on the regional development of Itapuranga, addressing both socioeconomic progress and how the program contributes to the personal and professional advancement of individuals. The main objective is to understand the role of Adult and Youth Education in Itapuranga-GO, allowing for personal growth, professional insertion into the job market, and regional development. The specific objectives were to understand Adult and Youth Education, characterize the municipality of Itapuranga-GO and its development, and analyze the impacts and perspectives of EJA on people and local development. EJA plays a crucial role in the empowerment and valorization of citizens, enabling individuals who missed previous educational opportunities to acquire essential knowledge and skills. This strengthens social capital networks and contributes to local advancement. Through a qualitative methodological approach and a detailed analysis of data collected from applied questionnaires, the study explores transformations in the professional qualification, self esteem, and civic engagement of program graduates. The results reveal that EJA not only provides a significant second educational opportunity but also acts as a catalyst for effective market insertion and active participation in society. Furthermore, the program stands out in mitigating educational disparities, promoting social inclusion, and contributing to regional economic development. This work highlights the importance of continuing and expanding adult education initiatives, emphasizing EJA as a vital tool for strengthening individual and collective capacities, essential for addressing contemporary challenges and fostering sustainable growth in Itapuranga.ptEducação de jovens e adultosInclusão socialTransformação educacional
