Understanding the structure and functioning of the financial market is essential for efficient management of financial assets of an organization, whether public or private. This research aims to develop studies on adaptations of methods and techniques for managing assets with greater grip and effectivities in improving the management of market applications, through a case study of the management of the investments of the Fund of the Army, whereas the knowledge and use of appropriate methods and techniques are essential for efficient management, enabling increased profitability of investments and contributing to the proper management of risk in investments. The research is justified by the need for better understanding of the various theories about financial markets and risk management transactions in the various market segments, which occur in the demand of resources by agents deficit and surplus supply by agents, and the intermediation financial institutions and agents. For the analysis of diversification as a strategy, a case study of the financial investments of the Fund Army was conducted from 2003 to 2013, verifying that the diversification of applications, although less conservative investments and private financial institutions, provided a additional profitability which offset the risks assumed, increasing revenue from income considerably.ptAplicações e riscoRentabilidadeFundo do exército
