The importance of teachers fully mastering digital skills is highlighted, as this is fundamental for a pedagogical practice capable of transforming student learning. In this sense, continuing education is indispensable, as it breaks with the traditional model and favors the increasingly consistent use of technologies in the educational process. However, although many teachers possess the knowledge and skills to use ICTs, they do not always find adequate conditions to apply them in the school context, mainly due to the structural and pedagogical limitations of the institution. Franco (2024) emphasizes that digital competence is recognized worldwide as an essential element for teaching performance. The field research conducted with 9th-grade students and teachers indicates structural institutional limitations that hinder the full incorporation of ICTs in the investigated context.
