The research was guided by the following question: Is it possible to systematize and enhance the management of public works contracts by adopting Power BI in the process of overseeing the execution of these projects? The study's objectives were to identify Power BI tools applicable to specific oversight activities during project execution; design customized dashboards for these oversight activities; develop a methodology for implementing Power BI at the operational level of project management; map the current operational management process of Companhia Energia's projects, the focus of this study; and propose an implementation of Power BI in Companhia Energia's oversight process, with the potential for adaptation to other public and private institutions. This dissertation is characterized as an exploratory-descriptive case study, using a qualitative approach. The method employed encompassed the case study of a large Brazilian publicprivate company in the electric power generation sector, focusing on its current contract management process and oversight of project execution. The study included a technical visit to one of its projects, aimed at modernizing a hydraulic power generation structure, as well as a semi-structured interview with the project’s oversight coordinator to gather detailed information about the challenges faced and the procedures adopted. Additionally, access was provided to the company's Intranet and technical documentation related to the analyzed project. Based on the collected data, analyses were conducted, culminating in the development of a proposal for the implementation of Power BI in Companhia Energia's project oversight process, resulting in a Technical-Technological Product. The findings indicated that the adoption of Power BI could significantly improve the efficiency of operational management in public civil engineering projects, primarily by centralizing and streamlining data from various sources, thus providing greater transparency and agility in decision-making processes. The automation of processes, combined with real-time access to critical information, could substantially enhance the contract management of public works, enabling more informed and timely decision-making. In conclusion, the analysis demonstrated the significant potential for optimizing the operational management of public works. The proposed implementation can be adapted and replicated in other public and private institutions responsible for the operational management of projects, offering an effective solution to similar challenges and promoting more efficient, transparent, and integrated management.ptBusiness IntelligencePower BIObras públicasGestão de contratos
