The effective realization of this right represents a concrete challenge for the management of the Public Defender's Office in Brazil. This study aims to identify and analyze the main obstacles faced by this group, based on data from the Public Defender's Office of the State of Goiás for the year 2024, as well as information provided by other Public Defender's Offices in the country. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed through document analysis and interviews with staff at the Public Defender's Office of the State of Goiás and representatives of associations that support the homeless population. The analysis of documents from secondary sources sought to quantify and characterize the current scenario of access to justice for this population, identifying the main challenges faced and the degree of demand for services from the Public Defender's Offices. The questionnaires, in turn, made it possible to understand the perceptions of public defenders and representatives of associations regarding the care and legal inclusion of this public.
