The central problem of the work lies in the observation of how the Economic Analysis of Law has been applied by the STF, considering the efficiency and legal predictability of these decisions. The general objective is to analyze the application of Economic Analysis of Law in STF decisions, investigating its economic and legal implications. The specific objectives include: identifying the theoretical foundations that justify the adoption of Economic Analysis of Law; critically analyzing STF decisions that applied Economic Analysis of Law; and exploring criticisms of the application of this methodology. The justification involves the need to understand the challenges and limitations of Economic Analysis of Law in Brazilian context of Civil Law, marked by a traditionally less consequentialist approach. The research adopts the qualitative method, with bibliographic review, and an empirical methodology, with analysis of judicial decisions. The conclusion reached after the research was that the Economic Analysis of Law contributes to more efficient and predictable decisions, as it brings confidence to the market by demonstrating the stability of its precedents. A judiciary with this concern provides security to investors, making the country more attractive and promising for investments.
