Redução da jornada de trabalho e direito à desconexão: o impacto da redução da jornada de trabalho e do direito à desconexão no equilíbrio entre vida profissional e pessoal. 2023. 135 f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Função Social do Direito) – Faculdade Autônoma de Direito, São Paulo, 2023.http://repositorio.unialfa.com.br/handle/123456789/516The present study aims to analyze the importance of reducing working hours and the right to disconnect in the context of a world that demands increasing productivity and connectivity. The goal is to understand the function of work in this scenario, explore the role of disconnection and leisure for workers, and investigate how a reduction in working hours, coupled with disconnection, can make them more productive and mindful. In contemporary industrial societies, there is an observed acceleration of pace in life and a constant sense of stress and haste, as demonstrated by authors such as Hannah Arendt (2020), Paul Virilio (1996), Zygmunt Bauman (2001; 2008), and Byung-Chul Han (2017). While technology is intended to free humanity from fatigue and stress, it is often observed that it is used to intensify servitude to machines and amplify professional demands. The consequences of this context on workers' lives are intended to be analyzed. On a societal level, rights play a significant role in achieving the proposed objectives. Through labor legislation, it is possible to establish limits on working hours, ensuring adequate time for rest and leisure. Furthermore, the recognition and protection of the right to disconnect are essential for preserving the physical and mental health of workers, as well as promoting a more conscious and balanced society. Thus, this study seeks to address the proposed questions, analyze the evolution of working hours, and the increasing numbers of stress-related illnesses. The aim is to contribute to the understanding of challenges faced in the contemporary world of work and propose measures that promote workers' well-being. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the social, psychological, and organizational implications of reducing working hours and the right to disconnect will be explored. The analysis encompasses not only individual benefits for workers, such as improved quality of life and job satisfaction, but also the impacts on companies and society as a whole. Additionally, the intention is to support the debate surrounding the necessity of public policies and organizational practices that value health, quality of life, and disconnection as essential elements for building a more equitable and sustainable society. By analyzing these issues and reflecting on the role of rights in this context, recommendations and strategies are hoped to be proposed that can be adopted by both individuals and institutions, aiming to foster a healthier, more conscious, and productive work environment. Therefore, this present dissertation aims to contribute to the understanding of challenges and opportunities related to reducing working hours and the right to disconnect, as well as to the search for solutions that promote balance between work and personal life.ptRedução da jornada de trabalhoDireito à desconexãoSaúde ocupacionalSíndrome de BurnoutRedução da jornada de trabalho e direito à desconexão: o impacto da redução da jornada de trabalho e do direito à desconexão no equilíbrio entre vida profissional e pessoal
