Its objective is to analyze and understand the importance of a school for a neighborhood and the local community, as well as whether the school involved in this study, the Maguito Vilela State Agrocollege, contributed to regional development. This analysis considers public policies and historical perspectives linked to this educational institution, taking into account the values associated with the person being honored, their relevant historical significance, and consolidating the basis for cultural recognition and identification through the school context. The research covers a brief period from 2020 to 2024. The theoretical framework used included: various official documents; national/state and specific legislation on the topics addressed; books; articles; and dissertations from the CAPES thesis database. and authors such as: Moacir Gadotti (2005), Celina Souza (2006), Ladislau Dowbor (2006), Dermeval Saviani (2007), Antônio Carlos Gil (2002), and Marina de Andrade Marconi and Eva Maria Lakatos (2017). The work is divided into 4 systematically and intertwined chapters, with the aim of providing an understanding of the topics covered and subsequent ones. Methodologically, it is a documentary and exploratory research of information and data, based on an orienting, qualitative, and descriptive approach. It was carried out through readings, analyses, consultation, or research.
