This work is a study about the potential of the Escola Família Agrícola de Orizona to promote the effectiveness of the social function of property of families who own a small agricultural land whose children study in the educational institute in focus. It is a vocational high school located in the city of Orizona, Goiás, which practices the pedagogy of alternation as teaching method, a characteristic that makes possible the practice of a sustainable agricultural culture in these communities, in which the exercise of practice of the social function of property. This is verified in the farming activities carried out by the families of students and is present in the new ways of dealing with farmland animals, the soil, and the thinking of community people by itself. The social function of property needs to be solidified, in order to distinguish itself by phatic experience, and not just in law, as the principle of economic order. It is necessary that society prosecutes this principle as a way of constituting its own essence as social beings.
